Wyoming International Chamber Music Festival

Hosted in Laramie, Wyoming, USA, the WICMF brings artists of renown from across the globe to facilitate cultural exchange, creative sharing, and to bring chamber music and the arts to wider audiences than ever before.

The WICMF is proudly partnered with the Tenby International Music Festival (Wales, UK).

  • Ross McIntosh, viola

    Artistic Director, Founder, WICMF

    Ross makes a return to his hometown to showcase several gems of the solo viola and chamber music repertoire.

  • Thomas Mathias, violin

    Artist Director, Co-Founder, TIMF

    Presenting concertos and chamber works alike, Thomas is sure to delight Laramie audiences with his “Expressive and moving . . . virtuoso technique” (Cambrian News).

  • Mary Cowell, viola

    Mary Cowell, a principal player in the Colorado Symphony, brings her powerful sound and deep expressivity to the WICMF. Having lived and studied in Laramie, this return marks a meaningful occasion.

  • Kaden Larson, piano

    An avid solo recitalist and collaborative pianist, Larson is also a founding member of the Ensign Piano Quartet and the consonari ensemble project. He holds degrees in piano from Indiana University and Brigham Young University. Larson recently released his first CD, Phantasium, on the KNS Classical label. Professor of Piano/Music at Tyler Junior College (Tyler, TX), Dr. Larson enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities.

  • Anna Larson, violin

    Passionate chamber and orchestral musician, as well as a studio musician and soloist, Anna Larson is adjunct instructor in applied violin and chamber music at the University of Texas at Tyler and Tyler Junior College, maintains a small private studio, and performs in multiple regional orchestras. Anna comes to Wyoming with her husband, Kaden, as Consonari, a fabulous violin and piano duo.

  • Kathryn Harding, soprano

    A Laramie native, she was awarded Bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Morningside University where she was on the tennis team, and Master’s degrees in Music-Voice and Music Education from the University of Wyoming. As a graduate student, she was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Dorothy Jacoby Concerto competition. She previously taught high school choir in Rawlins, Wyoming, and was a Lecturer in Voice at the University of Wyoming.

  • Kian Ravaei

    Composer-in-residence

    Bringing a diverse portfolio, Kian Ravaei’s unique voice is well represented by his chamber pieces, many of which will be featured this August during the WICMF.

  • Basil Alter, violin

    In the 2024-2025 season, violinist Basil Alter enjoys several solo performances across the US and Europe, including London, New York, and Istanbul. This year’s festival marks Basil’s second trip to Laramie after a tour of Wyoming with violist Ross McIntosh in 2019.

  • Manuel Papale, cello

    Argentinian-American cellist Manuel Papale delivers flair and flash in every performance, and strengthens the WICMF’s international ties with his expertise in the music of composers such as Astor Piazzolla.

  • Keegan Bamford, cello

    Keegan Bamford is a passionate and creative cellist who strives to reach emotional heights through his love for storytelling with music. An avid performer, Keegan is frequently is asked to play with many orchestras in the Indiana-Illinois-Kentucky area. He is currently the assistant principal cellist in Richmond, Indiana.

  • Benjamin David Tufte, piano

    Tufte prefers a multifaceted approach to music-making and is active in both performance and composition. His performance activities include solo, chamber, concertante, and large ensemble music and a deep commitment to collaboration. Commissions received include the Boston-based duo Transient Canvas and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA).
